AWARD WINNING LUTHIER
Luca Salvadori was born in Poggio Rusco (Mantova) in 1962. After initially training as a goldsmith, he then attended the violin making school in Cremona, where he studied under the direction of Giovanni Morassi and received his diploma in 1982. Following stations in Poggio Rusco, Pieve di Coriano and Persichello, he opened his own atelier in the Corso Matteotti in Cremona.
Salvadori takes his inspiration from the models of Antonio Stradivari, but also creates his own models, with which he has regularly enjoyed success at national and international competitions.

FOR SALE: Bazin Viola Bow
Charles Alfred Bazin (1907-1987)
Charles Alfred Bazin (1907-1987) is the final archetier in the Bazin bow-making dynasty. He began his apprenticeship under his father, Charles Louis Bazin, in 1922, and he worked closely with his father until the outbreak of World War II. After serving in the military, Bazin returned to Mirecourt to open his own workshop. He took over the family firm after his father’s death, and he produced an impressive output of bows until his retirement in the 1980s.
Bazin’s bows display his father’s influence, although his style became heavier in later models. Bazin collaborated frequently with his father and other workers during his early career, but he became increasingly independent as he got older. He eventually worked alone and refused to make bows for other firms.
